Profile

Angus teaches structural design and architectural history and writes on architectural structures, the history of structural technology, and aspects of cultural landscape. With artist-photographer and environmental interpreter Patricia Macdonald, he is a member of Aerographica, an academic and artistic partnership concerned with the interpretation of the natural and built environments through the medium of aerial photography. Aerographica has published five books and several exhibition catalogues dealing with these themes. A volume on the cultural landscape of the Hebridean Islands of Scotland is underway. Aerographica operates its own aircraft and maintains the Aerographica Photographic Library of c.150,000 aerial images of the British Isles, Western Europe and parts of North Africa.

Angus is a Commissioner on the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland and a member of the Board of Governors of Edinburgh College of Art. He holds a UK Commercial Pilot's Licence with Instrument and Instructor Ratings.
