Profile

John is an architect who combines practice with research. He has worked in the field of sustainable architecture for 20 years and has through practice and research engaged with the key issues of the environmental debate. Current projects bridge academia and the profession and he is currently researching how sustainable agendas will change the way in which we perceive rural settlement. He is also interested in the many ways in which sustainability is defined and how this can both help and hinder the formulation of robust sustainable design strategies.

John teaches on undergraduate technology and environment courses and has recently established a new masters programme in advanced sustainable design [http://www.ace.ed.ac.uk/asd]
