Support Staff
The Support Staff are essential to the successful operation of ESALA. Drawn from a range of experience in the fields of administration, education, art, design and technology they provide a professional support network for students and academics engaged in academic programmes, public programmes and research projects.
The following is a list of the administrative assistants, librarians, computing officers, workshop managers and technicians, photographic and printing specialists that work within ESALA.

Claire Davies |
Claire is responsible for the reception desk (Minto House), for Architectural History support, and door management Claire is a Student Support Officer, based in Minto House. |

Margaret provides administrative and student support for Landscape Architecture. She is based at Lauriston Place. |

Dr Kirsten Phimister |
Kirsten is part of the Graduate School at Alison House. She is responsible for processing admissions to the MArch and research programmes; administering taught MSc programmes and providing administrative support for postgraduate research. |

Ian Gunn |
Ian is a graduate of Edinburgh College of Art. He taught Electronic Publishing and Information Technology at Napier University for a number of years before joining us as Computing Officer. |

Geoff Lee |
Geoff has worked at the University of Edinburgh since 1999 providing Macintosh and Unix computing support. |

Rachael Travers |
Rachel is a graduate of Napier University (Photography) and is responsible for the provision of high quality large format printing and scanning, imaging equipment loans and advice. |

Alice Crossland |
Alice has run the Art & Architecture Library (Minto House) for more years than she cares to remember. She also provides e-learning support for the History and Design degrees. |

Rowena Godfrey |
I have been involved with people and books most of my working life, firstly as a picture librarian and then as an editor in educational publishing. I now work as the afternoon library assistant, and enjoy helping the students to access the information they need for their various studies. |

Mausumi Majumdar |
I was an architecture student for a few years and at present split my time between working in the Royal Concert hall and City Halls in Glasgow and as the morning library asistant in the Art & Architecture library. As I intend to resume my architecture studies soon, this position gives me valuable insight and support. |
