Vicarious Learning / Graphic Dialogues

John Lee is currently an investigator on two projects: one, funded by the ESRC Teaching and Learning Research Programme, focussing on the application of the concept of "vicarious learning" in technology support for clinical and other professional education; the other, funded by the Edinburgh-Stanford Link, on collaborative dialogue involving graphics. These projects reflect general research interests in: communication using graphics and integrating natural language with graphics; the use of information technology in support of design practice; synthesis of web sites from domain-dependent formal descriptions; cognitive change in design and education, and implications for educational technology.
